DRYING PLANTS
TS
FLUIDIZED BED DRYERS
The “TS”
dryers are the most efficient fluidized bed dryers which are used in
chemical, food treatment and pharmaceutical industry. Having a very high
thermal efficiency and built both as continuous or batch operating
equipments, the “TS” have been utilized to threat thousands of different
products such as organic or inorganic powders or paste, inorganic liquids.
The principal of operation depends on “Fluidization” in which drying of
water or solvents in open or closed cycle is performed by the suspension and
agitation of a bed of particulate solids by a vertically rising stream of
gas.
The TS dryers
are manufactured as:

Batch
operated TS: It is used for little batches of pharmaceutical products.

TSA: It is used for temperature sensitive products.

Continuous
tower type ETS: They are special plants: the former is useful to change
the drying conditions zone by zone, the latter for dangerous products or
very fine dusts.

TSF
TURBOFLASH DRYER
The TSF
Turboflash dryer is a new patented dryer designed to treat continuously
temperature sensitive products. The dryed material is continuously
discharged as powders or granules. Owing to the low drying time the product
can not reach an high temperature. TSF Turboflash dryers are used to perform
two different and opposite process conditions.

“TSF”
for dust: In this system products such as organic powders or temperature
sensitive slurry (starch, micelium, flour...) are reduced in dust and
immediately dryed and discharged by cyclons.

“TSF”
for muds: This system is used for organic slurry (biological mud). The mud
produced by the water treatment plants are dryed in order to reduce the cost
of elimination.
ALFA
DEHYDRATORS
The
ALFA Dehydrator is an half pneumatic three passages apparate, designed to
treat many organic or inorganic products (fodders, by-products of food
industry, olive husk, paper pulp) in small pieces with high initial moisture
too.
The heart of
the plants is the rotary drum. The drying product is carried by the air flow
and the drum rotation. Drying is produced by the hot air flow that is
directly mixed with the product in the rotary drum of the equipment.

ROTARY
DRYERS
The rotary
dryers are all the equipments in which the product is dryed inside a rotary
drum. The material can be dryed by direct hot air ventilation both in
parallel and counter current. Rotary dryers are built in following types:

R: Direct
heating rotary dryers: The drying
product is lifted by the internal showels and falls in the hot air stream,
that performs the drying. The heat transfer coefficient is low. So those are
to be utilized with high air inlet temperature. Some tipical fields are
mining, sands, bentonite and industrial not combustible slurry.

RI: Indirect
heating rotary dryers: The drying
material is heated across the drum walls. The drum is enclosed inside an
insulated jacket in which hot gas flows. The hot gas is generated by a
burner. The RI equipment are indispensable for some products that are to be
treated with high temperature and low oxigen contents. Some tipical fields
are drying of danger or explosive products, oil drying from metallic
granules, water of crystallization removal and chemical reactions at high
temperature and controlled atmosphere.

RC:
Calciners: The product of flows in counter
current with the hot air stream and is heated at a temperature ranging from
800 to 1500 °C. Some tipical fields are mineral treatment, purification of
industrial waste and chemical industry.

CABINET AND TUNNEL DRYERS
|
|
Tunnel
and cabinet dryers are plants composed by a metallic and insulated
“room”, sometimes made by brickworks, in which circulate an hot air
stream. The drying product is placed on wood or metallic trays supported by
wheeled trucks. |

The
tunnel dryers are usually employed to treat fruit and vegetables. For the
cabinet dryer the Libeccio type is designed for fruit, and the Scirocco,
insulated for high temperature, is employed in chemical and pharmaceutical
field. |

The “DRYBALL” is a new kind of
dryer designed for pharmaceutical products. The purpose of this new
project is to join the efficiency of a fluidised bed dryer with the
good characteristics of a vacuum dryer.

ETL BELT CONVEYOR DRYERS
|
|
Belt
conveyor dryers are all those plants in which the product to be dryed is
placed on a belt conveyor crossed by hot air. The belt moves inside a closed
tunnel in which are assembled heaters, blowers and all the necesarry
devices. The available models are: |

ETL
single belt with air recirculation: The greatest
part of air flow is recirculated and the recirculation chamber is inside the
tunnel structure. Tipical fields are food industry; pellets or other
delicate products in chemical.

ETL
single belt without recirculation: The air
recirculation circuit is external to to the structure or absent. Tipical
fields are food industry; pellets or other delicate products in chemical.

ETL
multiband belt dryer: The air flow crosses many
superposed belts. It is used for drying products with low initial moisture
and long drying time.

| ELFVO VIBRATING FLUID BED DRYERS
|
| The
vibrating fluidized bed dryers are continuous equipments in which the drying
is performed by an hot air stream that cross a little layer of the product
like in the “fludized bed” dryers. The whole dryer is placed on torsion
springs and vibrates owing to the action of rotating masses. The material
advancing is produced by this whole structure vibration. The “ELFVO” is
very usefull to treat all those products that have low initial moisture and
great mass flow. It is utilized as a substitute of “TS” or “ETL”
dryers for inorganic or organic dusts with external moisture. |
